All piercings at Sparkle by Manal are performed using a sterile, single-use needle. We do not use piercing guns.
What jewelry do you use for a new piercing?
For initial piercings, we recommend high-quality, biocompatible jewelry, including implant-grade titanium and selected 18K gold pieces, depending on the piercing and your anatomy.
What does implant-grade titanium mean?
Our titanium jewelry is implant-grade titanium (ASTM F136), selected for its biocompatibility and suitability for fresh piercings.
Can I choose my jewelry before the piercing?
Yes. We can help you choose the jewelry and create a style that suits your ear, anatomy and personal taste.
How do I know which piercing is right for my ear?
Every ear is different. We assess your anatomy and discuss your desired look before deciding on the placement. This is an important part of personalized ear styling.
How many piercings can I get in one appointment?
The appropriate number depends on the placement, your anatomy and your individual healing capacity. We prioritize safe healing rather than simply maximizing the number of piercings in one session.
How long does a piercing take to heal?
Healing time varies depending on the placement. Lobes generally heal faster than cartilage piercings, while areas such as helix, conch and other cartilage placements can take several months.
How should I care for my new piercing?
You’ll receive aftercare guidance after your appointment. In general, fresh piercings should be handled gently, kept clean with appropriate sterile saline, and protected from unnecessary pressure and friction.
Can I sleep on my new piercing?
It’s best to avoid direct pressure on a fresh piercing, particularly cartilage piercings, during healing.
Can I change my jewelry after getting pierced?
Jewelry should not be changed prematurely. Healing varies by placement and individual. We can advise you when your piercing is ready and help with appropriate jewelry changes or downsizing.
